Hey Anna! I defintely think you chose the right project for your topic. This comic emphazises your claims well and highlights the issues with Walmart. Good job.
I like that you chose to do a unique project. Applying the problems with Walmart to a story brought out emotion more than a website or video might have. I agree with Laura that pathos played a role in communicating your message.
This is a really cool and awesome project. You bring attention to something very important that comes up in the news every now and then but soon fades from the general public's eye. Expressing your views and analysis of this subject creatively helps emphasize them, and you do a very good job of presenting the material.
I loved the comic. I loved that it was different from all the other projects. I like how you addressed a serious issue in a comical and almost childish platform. Awesome job!
Your comic was beautifully and truthfully portrayed. Walmart is continuously making mom and pop shops call it quits. And unfortunately there are the unfortunate souls that get caught in between. However, being such a super center they do put a decent dent in the unemployment line. What I didn't here in your comic was what happend to the mom and pop shops? Do they try again? Do they work at Walmart? Do they have enough retirement saved away?
Your comic is extremely well done. It's a creative and informative way to captivate the audience. Coming from a city near Naperville, I agree that this is a big issue. I enjoyed being able to follow the life of someone that I could easily relate to.

ReplyDeleteThe original story line is a great way to show the audience how Wal Mart affects people's lives instead of just looking at them as a business overall.
ReplyDeleteI loved your comic! Did you do all of the drawing? It was very well put together and presented a big issue in a really unique, artistic way.
