Given the fact that this Friday marks 14 years since the devastating attacks in Manhattan and the ensuing grief and cultural shock, your prompt is this:
How does one write about tragedy? How can one properly, effectively, and sensitively engage with an event which is still disturbing and troubling to many people? Is it disturbing or troubling to you? You may answer these questions explicitly if you wish, or you may use them as a jumping-off point.
Some other things to consider: how would you write about it to your peers? How would you write about it to those who are older than you & can remember the events clearly? How would you write about it to an audience primarily from New York City? To an audience primarily from Iraq? How might you talk about the major political events which were fomented in part by these attacks?
Again, due at 5 pm on Friday. There is, as ever, a 250-word minimum, though I, as ever, encourage you to write more.
