1- Brian, 2- Laura, 3- Andrew, 4- Rachel

2- The entire article is saying technology is bad and we need people to do things. Some things should still have people doing them. Technology is evolving to make people more productive, like searching legal documents. I think technology is improving life that way, to give humans more time for them.

1- The article is saying there’s nothing we can do to stop humans from losing the ability to do certain jobs to machines and computers just because the human cognitive ability is limited. We can only learn so much. People that flip burgers could be replaced with machines that don't have to be paid, then human capital would be obsolete because there are always jobs for people to do. Things humans don't want to do can be replaced by machines.

3- Even though computer technology is becoming more prominent, do you thin that will create more or less jobs?

2- It could go both ways. The jobs replaced by computers would allow people to find other jobs. Jobs would disperse to other places where people want to hire an actual person.

1- Corporations would have to go above and beyond to educate workers for jobs that are replaced by robots. They are going to have to help people find jobs being replaced by computers.

2- The person in the article grew up in a time where not everyone went to college, today it’s okay that parents are encouraging their kids to do certain jobs because of the price of education they don’t want to be wasted. It’s okay to be practical, in that sense, so they can get a practical career and have their interests on the side.

3- Are social skills or efficiency more important in the workplace?

2- For a physical therapist, its important to communicate with patients and coworkers and both are important. It is not as important to communicate with fast food but efficiency is important.

1- It depends on the job.

3- What social skill do you value in your stance?

2- Efficiency is more important because its important to et things done quickly.

1- I agree technology increases efficiency, but to an extent. Too much technology can cause things to go wrong.

2- I’m disagreeing with the argument. Empathy is more important. Understanding other people is important depending on the job. But, it is important in ll jobs. Computers can’t interact with people the same way.

1- Computers can take over all jobs that don’t require empathy.

2- You don’t need empathy to search documents, but there are still jobs that require it.
